Rotary table is a kind of precise and valuable instrument which is vulnerable to damage, especially the hemisphere and round glass pieces made of optical glass, which have very low hardness and are easy to wear. Therefore, when operating, we must strictly abide by the operating procedures and laboratory regulations, and pay attention to the maintenance and maintenance of the instrument at any time.
1. Before installation, wipe the hemisphere, round glass, rock flakes, etc. clean without dust, otherwise the dust particles will cause microscopic scratches on the hemisphere and round glass. The edges and corners of the sheet used should be rounded, and the cover glass should be completely smooth.
2. The cover glass must be facing upwards when installing the sheet, otherwise the focus cannot be achieved, and the accident of the objective lens hitting the hemisphere is very likely to occur.
3. When installing the stage, try to raise the lens barrel (or lower the object stage) as much as possible, and remove the objective lens at the same time to avoid the collision between the upper hemisphere and the microscope.
4. When installing the upper hemisphere, do not overtighten the fixing screws to avoid crushing the cover glass. Scratch the hemisphere. At the same time, the liquid paraffin should not be dripped too little, otherwise the hemisphere and the sheet will not be lubricated and wear will occur.
5. When focusing, first lower the lens barrel (rising object stage), and observe the distance between the objective lens and the upper hemisphere sideways, until it stops when it is almost in contact, then look at the field of view and slowly raise the lens barrel (or descending object) Table), focus on the mineral, so as to avoid the lens from hitting the spherical surface.
6. The locking screws of each axis of the pivot table (especially the most commonly used H axis) are prone to wear and tear, and must be maintained. Remember to loosen the corresponding lock screws before turning each shaft, and never turn the rotating shaft forcefully in a locked state. When operating, the movements should be light and light, and each axis should be rotated with the force of the fingertips, and no wrist force, let alone arm force.
7. All the work such as assembly and disassembly should be carried out on the desktop covered with rubber pads. The used optical components (hemisphere, round glass) should be wiped clean with lens paper (or absorbent cotton) dipped in a mixture of alcohol and ether, without leaving any oil stains. Metal parts should also be wiped frequently, especially the parts with liquid paraffin, and should be scrubbed in time with alcohol-ether mixture.
